Nicks was started in 1996 after moving to Curran Mi, from the Detroit area. He bought Shirleys' cafe and moved ahead. He became very active in the community forming the Black Bear Festival among other things. In 2006 he purchased the old Al's diner which was moved to the area from out east and had not been very successful. Through his hard work, super personality and desire to get ahead while instilling these desires into a crew of people that have remained dedicated through the years and made Nick's Southside one of the friendliest places to eat with good quality food at a fair price. You will be a stranger here but once. If you are not completly satisfied Nick will make it right.
